Spousal career support

The essentials of spousal career support

This specific assessment is crucial for expat spouses and partners because expatriation often equals taking professional risks. International mobility is generally a win-win situation for the company and the employee – but for spouses, mobility needs to be an opportunity for forging a new career path and not sacrificing the former one.

We help expat spouses and partners to overcome the difficulties of those first “transition” months and to gain in agility and adaptability (both at the beginning of an expatriation and when returning home). In addition, we help them define and execute their professional goals.

Objectives of the skills assessment for expatriate spouses and partners

1. Define a motivating and realistic professional plan in the short and medium term. (Re)gain the confidence and energy necessary to forge a new career path and leave the comfort zone.

2. Carry out a skills assessment*: analyze personal and professional skills, aptitudes and motivations, define a professional plan and, if necessary, a training plan, using assets as a negotiating tool for job, training, or career development.

3. Establish an action plan and implement of the first steps (job search, business creation, freelance, volunteer work, training, etc.), but also get help with a specific query (writing a CV, preparing for an interview…).
